Fleshpot Music

When Michael Cera stars in an indie teen comedy, you can expect the film to have a soundtrack that would make any hipster happy. Like 'Juno' and 'Nick and Norah's Infinite Playlist' before it, the music to the upcoming 'Youth in Revolt' delivers an array of indie bands that haven't quite hit the mainstream yet. What makes the 'Youth in Revolt' soundtrack different is its diversity. Naturally, there's plenty of indie rock from the Fruit Bats, Little Wings and Beulah, as well as two songs from up-and-coming L.A. duo Fleshpot. On top of that, there are tracks by former Pharcyde rapper Fatlip, French musician Jacques Dutronc and American hitmaker Jo Stafford.
There's even a song from Cera himself, the acoustic 'I Have a Boyfriend.' In addition to his acting chops, Cera has also provided music for the "hybrid documentary" 'Paper Heart,' which he appeared in alongside actress Charlyne Yi. In 'Youth in Revolt,' he stars as -- surprise -- an awkward teen who invents a more masculine alter ego to impress a girl.
'Youth in Revolt' hits theaters on Jan. 8, and the soundtrack is available on Jan. 5 via Lakeshore Records. Check out the full track list below.
